CHEMICAL SPECIFICATION TESTS SPECIFICATIONS Solubility Freely soluble in water, slightly soluble in alcohol. Identification A, B, C and D are +ve. Appearance of solution 5 % w/v solution is clear and colourless. Acidity or alkalinity NMT 0.4 ml of 0.01 M Sodium hydroxide required to change the colour to blue. Related substances Any secondary spot obtained with the test solution is not more intense than the spot obtain with reference solution [a] [1 %] and at most one such spot is more intense than the spot obtained with reference solution [b] [0.2 %].
